A while back, I ran across a briefcase at a thrift store.I picked it up for my gamer husband, Joe Gamer since we were huge fans of Knights of the Dinner Table. If you are familiar with the comic, then you understand the gaming briefcase. One of the characters, Brian, always brings a briefcase to the group’s RPG game sessions. He has everything in there including snacks – that he doesn’t share – pencils, books, and other supplies.

Here is a look at how Joe Gamer packed his briefcase on a recent game night to play Hackmaster.

He usually doesn’t take a briefcase but thought it’d be funny to take it since the game was Hackmaster – what the Knights play in the comic. Sadly the joke must have been too inside. Only he(and me) got it.

The little gamer in training loves small toys. The smaller – the better. She has a pretty good spot check but her search lacks a lot. She is always misplacing her small toys. But knowing how much she adores small toys, we thought that she would enjoy some of the horses from the Bella Sara miniatures set.

We bought her three to start with and she just simply loved them. So we bought more. As we bought a few more packs, we began to like these adorable horses as much as Little Gamer. Now we are looking to buy us more and am looking forward to series 2 being released.

Bella Sara is a collectible card game that features horses and now other animals. Cards display a positive message. With the actual cards there are several games you can play. You can also use a code to unlock a virtual animal on the Bella Sara website to play with and play more games. You can’t actually play with the miniatures in the game but still they are pretty neat.

The CCG Legends of the Five Rings is coming out with its newest base set this summer – the Celestial Edition. It’s due out June 22nd. Of course there will be pre-release tournaments. Already JoeGamer and company are making plans to attend one. The last pre-release I didn’t attend but thought about going to this one. Participating is another story since I’ve only played L5R once or twice. I doubt I can learn enough to actually play by the end of June since L5R is a pretty complicated(but fun!) game.

The Imperial Gift(2) will also become available to any player that wants it. It includes two decks so you are ready to teach anyone how to play L5R. The Imperial gift is really cool in that it’s a set of free cards to players. The set is released in increments but will be a full set when completed later this year.

It’s my goal with Celestial to really start playing L5R and getting into the game with a base set should be easier than trying to start in the middle of a series.
