Introducing! The Tiny King!

by on Dec.17, 2009, under Unrelated

Hello everyone and welcome to the odyssey that will be the gaming habits of one Tiny King Jeff.  I am your Royal Shortness, Jeff, also know as Jeff Hollingsworth.  I promise I’ll try to make this as painless as possible.  I’m 22 years old, married to the most wonderful woman in the world, a Christian (because that’s important to me), and a dedicated gamer.  I don’t have as much experience as JoeGamer or LynnGamer, but I’ve got passion and that’s got to count for something right?  Right?  …right?

Anyhow, I play a good amount of video games as well as D&D and Warhammer.  I’m a huge fan of the sometimes bashed D&D 4th Edition so there will be a few posts here and there about new developments on that realm and why I care so much.  So here’s to what I hope becomes a beautiful friendship!

GoGos (Crazy Bones)

by on Jul.13, 2009, under Unrelated

Just one look around our house and you can clearly see that we are collectors. Most of our collections are game related. It’s either minis, cards, or games. Just recently we’ve discovered that we even like the Bella Sara miniatures. On a recent trip to the store, we found something all of us seem to enjoy equally.

gogos

They are called Go-Gos or Crazy Bones as it says on the package. From the Magic Box website, Gogos are described as game pieces. There isn’t an official game per say that you play with Gogos, but there are plenty of user submitted games.

There are over 80 gogos. JoeGamer plans to decorate his desk with his while mine will adorn my desk at home. The Little Gamer plays with hers in the pool and in the tub mostly.

Since we love both games and collectibles, gogos are a huge hit.

Tournament Results

by on Jul.05, 2009, under Unrelated

Congrats to MonkeyLord for placing in the top four at the Kenner L5R Celestial Edition Release Tournament. His wife, Jarlynn, won her first tournament game at the same time! (It would have been her first two games won at tournament except she was told a rule incorrectly – We won’t hold that against anyone though. It just best not ever happen again!)

I did not attend and I think I’m happy for it since there was no prize support other than the sword for first place. I also felt bad later that night and went to the hospital. All is well with me, but the annoyance of going to the ER would only have been compounded by going in an unfamiliar city.

Congrats again to all.

Check out My Brute

by on Jul.03, 2009, under Unrelated

Cute little flash game website I found while forum surfing. Check out my brute and fight me at Joe’s Brute.

It seems that your character’s look and abilities are dependent upon what name you give it.

Have fun!

I Get to Play HackMaster!!!

by on Jul.02, 2009, under HackMaster, RPG, Unrelated

Tonight Fulange GM’s Hackmaster for my friends and I. First game will be character generation. I’m hoping for a Knight Errant or Thief.

I’ve GM’d HackMaster a few times for some friends and my wife and it was always a hoot! Basically the system is 2nd Ed. DnD with a splash of parody, heavy dose of humor, and a ton a fun! If you have never experienced HackMaster I highly suggest that you go out and purchase more copies of The Knights of the Dinner Table than you can carry and read them all preferably in sequence. I would put in some links in this post but I’m feeling really lazy right now and I’m about to head to town. Plus I have lots of actual work to do that’s driving me batty (just can’t quite figure it out).

Peace!
